Have you ever felt stuck in your career or daily routine, wondering if there's more to life than what you're currently experiencing?

Finding your true passion in life can bring a sense of fulfilment and purpose that can positively impact all areas of your life. But how do you discover what you're truly passionate about? In this guide, we'll explore some key steps to help you identify your passions and start living a more fulfilling life.

So grab a cup of coffee, find a comfortable spot, and let's dive in!

Figure out what your true passion is

When determining your passion, you must first identify what keeps you up at night.

What causes your rush of energy?

What makes you light up when you speak about it?

What gives you butterflies?

One way you can figure out what your passion is, is to examine your values.

When examining your values, develop a list of everything you care about in your life, everything you feel makes the world go round, and a set of traits and characteristics you believe you should possess to meet these qualities.

Your values are typically aligned with your passion, and you are likely to have more than one passion, but it is up to you to find out how to incorporate all of those interests into a clear vision for your future.

I’m not suggesting you should have everything sorted out...

You may even start with just a few items you are passionate about or value and plan to turn that into an organisation.

For example, I value spending time in my place, writing with my family, and meeting and working with other Young Entrepreneurs like me at networking events and motivational presentations.

In the end, I realised that if I wanted to have more energy and time to spend with my family and attend more networking events,

I needed to find a job that provided a stable income,

one that I could do at home and be close to my family, and one that didn’t require too much time and energy.

So, over the summer, while I was off work and had time off from University, I decided to invest in a blog course and begin doing all of the steps necessary to have blogging as my primary source of income.

Even though I am still creating my page, I have noticed some good results.

To the point that I am confident that by this time next year, I will be able to live the life I have always desired.

So, it’s up to you to figure out how you will live a life full of passion and make it a reality.

Create a vision

After determining your values and interests, the following stage is to envision the life you would live while pursuing your passion.

Consider how you would spend a typical day:

Where will you be working?

Will you practice self-care regularly?

Who will you be spending most of your time with?

What kind of lifestyle habits do you intend to adopt?

What are you going to eat?

What will your financial situation be like?

How often will you take vacations?

Will you have any bodily alterations?

What will you wear?

These factors must be considered when sparking your enthusiasm for whatever you are developing.

The idea is to visualise and feel the emotions of those visions so that every day you are not just visualising but also experiencing your passion in reality, which will further enhance bringing your passion into reality.

Remove or limit anyone or anything that may prevent you from achieving your passion

The key to igniting your life with true passion is to remove everything hindering your performance. And create more time for that passion.

For this, I want you to consider 1-5 activities that you do daily that has no significance in your life.

Examples of things that do not add value to your life:

  • ·Oversleeping

  • ·Spending too much time partying

  • ·Overspending

  • ·Talking about your problems. Or even spend too much time discussing everything you want to do rather than making those things happen.

  • ·Watching too much TV

  • ·Spending too much time on social media

NEXT, I ask that you work on getting Rid of, or structurally limit that limitation (whatever it is)

When I say STRUCTURALLY LIMIT something, I mean allocating a fixed time during the day, week or month that you will spend doing something less aligned with your values and passion if necessary; however, the idea here is to just remove as many obstacles as possible.

If we want to start living out our passions and become our best selves living our best lives, we must devote time to make that a reality.

And one way to do that, is by limiting or removing the things that don’t help us make our passions a reality.

I’m not telling you that you shouldn’t indulge in limitations, we are human after all, but you need to prioritise the people and things that align with your values and passions first.

And after you have done that, if you have time during your day or the week to spend on the other stuff, then do that.

So, if that means swapping an hour out from scrolling on

Create an action Plan

Once you have identified your values, found something you are potentially passionate about, and eliminated any obstacles that may hinder you from pursuing that passion, it is time to create an action plan.

It is advisable to create a plan for various aspects of your life, including the following:

• Health Plan

• A plan for fitness

• A plan for a business

• A plan for self-care

If you are trying to study while doing all of these activities, it is important to have a study plan.

To create each plan, you need to determine your goals, identify the emotions you will experience once you achieve those goals, and establish a daily task that will assist you in reaching those goals.

(This could be as simple as allocating 10 minutes to an hour for each task)

Check out Structured, an amazing tool for structuring and organizing your day!

This app assists with creating daily schedules and preparing for unexpected events.

It helps you understand the amount of time available during the day to accomplish tasks.

It helps to Better manage your time, Identifies the activities that consume the most of your time (if you are keeping track of it) and uses colour coordination to allocate tasks more efficiently.

Begin implementing your plan NOW!

Once you have created a plan for how you will achieve each of your personal development goals, set a daily task in accordance with achieving those goals and have determined a realistic amount of time you will dedicate to working on those goals each day.

You should then implement these daily tasks into your daily routine to determine their effectiveness.

This is where you will identify your progression of completing those tasks and where you will be able to decide to alter the time you do or spend on those tasks in accordance to your mood, unplanned events, or to just establish a more work / self-care balance.

For instance, suppose you decided to work more and sleep less. Yes, that is fantastic. However, if you discover it is hurting you more than benefiting you, you should probably spend more time sleeping.

Or if you made the decision to do a job every day but, for whatever reason, struggled to finish it on a certain day, then you should resolve to finish it on other days.

You must determine what works best for you and find ways to manage your daily tasks effectively while meeting your needs.
